Volunteers Needed!!!

Please help support The First Tee of Raritan Valley by volunteering at the 2016 PGA Championship at Baltusrol July 25-31, 2016.  The First Tee of Raritan Valley will receive a donation from the catering company for each volunteer shift.  We are operating a limited concession stand on the 3rd fairway at Baltusrol with beverages & snacks.  Each volunteer is needed for an 8 hour shift.  The volunteer shifts needed are as follows: 6am-2pm, 9am-5pm, or 11am-closing.  Volunteers will receive free admission to the event on the same day to enjoy the tournament before or after your shift.  Volunteers should wear a white collared polo style shirt & kaki bottoms while working.  Each volunteer receives: free admission, parking, food & beverages.

9th Annual First Tee of Raritan Valley Golf Outing

Wednesday, June 22nd

The First Tee of Raritan Valley is proud to announce that their 9th Annual Golf Outing is being played at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club on Wednesday, June 22nd. The First Tee of Raritan Valley is excited to return to one of the top clubs in New Jersey. The day will kick off with registration and lunch starting at 11:30AM, a shotgun start at 1PM followed by dinner, open bar, and awards!

2016 Summer Camps

The First Tee of Raritan Valley invites you to join us for a week of our Summer Junior Golf Camp. Our half day camps are Monday - Friday from 9AM - Noon and open to students of all playing abilities ages 8 - 18. Each week of camp is limited to 30 students. The cost of camp is $200/week. (Girls Only Camp week is $100.00/camper)

In addition to instruction, each camper will receive a First Tee gift and healthy snacks daily. Activities will include daily warm-ups, discussion of First Tee Core Values and Healthy Habits, golf skill stations and contests, and an end of the week 9-hole team scramble!!!

Campers do NOT need their own golf clubs but they are encouraged to bring their own if they have them. We will provide clubs for anyone who doesn’t have them(Clubs must be reserved at least one week prior to the first day of camp). The First Tee of Raritan Valley also has junior clubs for sale if you wish to purchase clubs.

2016 First Tee Summer Camp Counselors

The First Tee of Raritan Valley is looking for Summer Camp Counselors for the 2016 Summer sessions. Summer Camps will begin the week of July 11th and run for six consecutive weeks. Successful Camp Counselors are not guaranteed employment for all 6 weeks.

Counselors are at the heart of The First Tee's mission. They create the environment necessary for positive youth development and deliver the life lessons that distinguish The First Tee experience.

This is a part-time position. Resumes will be accepted until all positions are filled. A minimum of five positions are available.

Coaches are the heart of The First Tee's mission and they create the environment necessary for positive youth development. Kenilworth, NJ (April 1, 2016) – The First Tee of Raritan Valley has selected two outstanding students for College Scholarships.  Sayaka Carpenter and Zachary Huber have each been selected as the 2016 College Scholarship recipients. Each student will receive a first year $2,000 scholarship.  This competitive scholarship honors the commitment and achievements of students who have participated in The First Tee of Raritan Valley’s youth development program.

Sayaka Carpenter is a senior at East Brunswick High School and an ACE Level student in The First Tee program at Tamarack Golf Course in Middlesex County.  Ms. Carpenter serves as captain of her high school golf team and volunteers as an assistant coach and mentor for younger students in The First Tee program.  In 2015, Sayaka was selected to play in the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach.

Zachary is a senior at Old Bridge High School and an ACE Level student in The First Tee program at Galloping Hill Golf Course in Union County.  Zachary is co-captain for his high school golf team and is a member of the Air Force Junior ROTC.  Zachary also serves as a summer camp counselor and a volunteer assistant coach for younger students in The First Tee program.

The First Tee of Raritan Valley would like to recognize and thank the Red Hoffman Cup Matches, the captains and their clubs for their generous donations to the scholarship fund.   A special evening is planned to celebrate The First Tee scholars on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 7:30pm on the second floor of the Galloping Hill Clubhouse located at 3 Golf Drive, Kenilworth, NJ 07033.  For more information, please call (908) 245-1120 or visit the web site at www.thefirstteerv.org .
